The BG community is a family, one that is fortunate to include the dedicated staff at Dillon’s. Regretfully, a bartender was subjected to vile verbal abuse during a recent match for adhering to the acceptable alcohol ID policy outlined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It was later determined the perpetrators were neither local nor Arsenal supporters, which came as something of a relief. However, this incident left us angry. Let us be clear:
Anyone who abuses bar staff in any way is subject to a permanent ban from BG activities.
Given this incident, we note the following, especially for our supporters from abroad:
Dillon’s only accepts the following forms of ID to purchase alcohol (must be valid)
US driver’s license (state-issued)
Canadian driver’s license (province-issued)
Massachusetts Liquor ID (available from Mass RMV for $25)
(US or Foreign) Passport valid for travel in the US
US Military ID
No other forms of ID will be accepted under any circumstances, including foreign driver’s licenses, employment verification cards, visas, and US Permanent Resident (“Green”) cards.
Those who look 40 or younger should always expect to have their IDs checked. Going forward, IDs will be examined at the door for higher-profile matches. BG match screenings remain all-ages, this policy concerns alcohol service only.
