Happy New Season, folks. And welcome back for another year with the finest supporters club in all the land.
Boston Gooners are proud to bring you Arsenal-Manchester United live from the House that Stan Built, SoFi Stadium, in beautiful (not quite) Los Angeles. Despite Erik Ten Hag’s insistence that United doesn’t play friendlies, the Gunners and the old enemy from England’s North West meet on their (annual?) U.S. tours for a second straight year.
It’s been about two months since the season ended. While Euro 2024 and Copa America provided plenty to distract us all from the lack of Arsenal fixtures, our first official event of the new season is a great opportunity to catch up and complain about everything that has or hasn’t happened– or happened too slowly– since that disappointing afternoon in May saw Arsenal cement a second straight second-place finish.
Most of the squad’s top players remain on their summer holidays after lengthy stints with their national team. But any time Arsenal and United get together, it’s an occasion warranting a few beers and a few songs and plenty of good, old-fashioned hate.
Join us for Arsenal’s second stop on its U.S. tour before many of us head to Philadelphia for the final leg next Wednesday. For any folks new to to the group or new to Boston, this is a great opportunity to get to know some folks at the pub ahead of the new season.
